Before We Go, We Must Prepare

In the past, Yinghua has arranged alternating trips to mainland China and Taiwan, which were unfortunately put on hold due to the pandemic. We are very glad to be able to return to this Yinghua tradition and give our students an opportunity to experience a Chinese-speaking country as a capstone to their Yinghua education. This summer’s two-week learning trip to Taiwan has been offered to both current seventh and eighth grade students as well as Yinghua graduates from the last three years.

In preparation for this trip, Yinghua students and alumni have spent the last few months studying, practicing, packing, and communicating with students at one of Yinghua’s sister schools in Taiwan.

Yinghua’s trips have five main objectives that guide the trip’s itinerary and help students get the most out of the experience:

  1. Be a traveler, not a tourist
  2. Learn about the culture
  3. Immerse yourself in language and culture
  4. Use the Chinese language in practical application
  5. Make friends

As our students and graduates make their way through Taiwan, they will post blogs about their day-to-day experiences and travels. Please join us in sending wishes of safe and joyful travels to our students and staff. We can’t wait to hear about their journey!
